Sony unveils PSP, the Next Generation Portable

In an event held in Tokyo, Sony on unveiled the new PlayStation Portable today (on 27 January, 2011). The price of the new PSP, officially known as the "Next Generation Portable," is not known yet.


The new PSP will feature a 5-inch OLED display and high resolution. There will be touch pads on the front and the back, Flash memory card, front and rear camera, 3G, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity. In addition, the device will also feature Sixaxis motion-sensing system.

In the core, ARM Cortex A9 (4 cores) CPU, and a SGX543MP4+ GPU will power the device.  That would be the performance of four times the CPU and GPU of an iPhone 4. While everybody is running after iPad, the PSP might be targeting the iPod Touch devices.
