Tablet war can be well anticipated this year with the release of various tablet computers. Some of the latest announcements – RIM PlayBook, Lenovo LePad, Asus Eee Slate – all were announced within a week into the new year 2011.
RIM’s 4G PlayBook to be released in summer of 2011
Research in Motion plans to release a 4G version of its iPad killer, BlackBerry PlayBook tablet, this summer. The tablet will be available inSprint Nextel network in the USA.
Lenovo’s Android LePad
Lenovo has announced a 10.1-inch, Google Android-based tablet, LePad, with a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The tablet will be released in China, sold in the price range of $399 and $449. Another Lenovo product, IdeaPad U1 is a hybrid device that can turns LePad into a netbook computer.
Asus’s Android and Windows tablets – Eee Slate
Taiwan’s ASUSTeK Computer is planning two versions of tablet computers to capture both Android and Windows marketplace. The 10.1 inch device will compete with iPad.
Costing around $999 to $1099, the Eee Slate,features Intel Core i5 with 2 / 4GB RAM, a 64GB SSD, and a 12.1 inch 1280×800 IPS stylus-sensitive display,
For the smaller screen competitors, Ausus has a MiMO, a 7 inch MessagePad device with stylus pen.
