Macbook Keyboard Shortcuts for OS X Yosemite (selected)

There are many shortcuts, I have collected the ones I use regularly. The symbols representing the main keys are (there are more symbols, and there are more shortcuts):

  • Empty Trash – ⇧++Delete
  • Help ⇧++?
  • Log Out Current User ⇧++Q
  • Mission Control: All Windows ⌃+Up Arrow (F3 on Apple keyboards)
  • Mission Control: Application Windows ⌃+Down Arrow (⌃+F3 on Apple keyboards)
  • Mission Control: Show Desktop F11 (fn+F11 on laptops) (⌘+F3 on Apple keyboards)

Finder keyboard shortcuts:

  • Find – +F
  • Get Info (on selected item or items) – +I
  • Show Inspector  (on selected item or items) -v+⌥+I
  • Go to All My Files  – ⇧++F
  • Go to Applications Folder – ⇧++A
  • Go to Desktop – ⇧++D
  • Go to Home Folder – ⇧++H
  • Quick Look (at selected item) ⌘+Y or Spacebar
  • Make Alias ⌘+L (Alias is similar to ‘shortcuts’ in windows)
  • Show Original (of selected alias) ⌘+R
  • Move to Trash ⌘+Delete
  • Empty Trash ⇧+⌘+Delete
  • New Finder Window ⌘+N
  • New Folder ⇧+⌘+N
  • New Smart Folder ⌥+⌘+N

  • Hide Current Application – +H
  • Hide Other Applications +⇧+H
  • Minimize Window ⌘+M
