Mac OS X 10.7 Lion release on Wednesday, Apple confirms

Apple has confirmed the rumor of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion to be released on Wednesday, July 20. Apple on Tuesday has released Migration Assistant Update, to allow users to prepare their Mac for the upcoming update to Lion.

Apple says:

This update addresses an issue with the Migration Assistant application in Mac OS X Snow Leopard that prevents transfer of your personal data, settings, and compatible applications from a Mac running Mac OS X Snow Leopard to a new Mac running Mac OS X Lion.

It is the first time, Apple is releasing full operating system through Mac App Store for $29.99.

Apple’s profits surged by 125%

In the Apple’s quarterly earnings calls on Tuesday, record sales of iPhones and iPads have surpassed all previous expectations. Apple’s profits surged of 125% on the record sales of 20.34M iPhones, 9.25M iPads.
