Reports are surfacing about “something big” to be done to commemorate the tenth anniversary this Thursday, May 19. Boy Genius Report said that Apple may be doing ‘something big‘ on that day.
Last month, the retail employees were sent an e-mail saying that they can’t take the days off between May 20 and May 22.
Garry Allen in ifoAppleStore.com says that the first two Apple stores opened on May 19, 2001 in McLean, Virginia, at the Tyson’s Corner Mall, and at the Glendale Galleria in Glendale, Calif. He further adds:
Apple doesn’t look back, so I don’t expect any official event, celebration or commemoration of May 19th. I do hear that something interesting will occur within the stores on the 19th or 20th, but it’s not a celebration.
UPDATE – It was only iPad payment system added in the retail locations. Nothing significant was introduced for the consumers. So, I didn’t feel to need to write a separate post on the issue.
