iPad Mini first batch of reviews – a bit too much positive!

Almost all of the reviewers so far have agreed that the iPad Mini is a high quality product, an iPad shrinked to a smaller useable form factor. They all seem to justify the $129 price premium, when compared to the 7" $199 tablets iPad Mini is usually compared to.

Some significant statements on iPad Mini by the reviewers include:

  • you can comfortably hold this iPad in one hand … (When compared to other 7" tablets) iPad Mini is a far classier, more attractive, thinner machine. (David Pogue, NYT)
  • it does exactly what it promises: It brings the iPad experience to a smaller device. (Walt Mossberg, AllthingsD)
  • …There’s no doubt that this is indeed a five-star device. (Charles Arthur, The Guardian)
  • Apple will sell a lot of these little beauties, that’s for sure. (Shane Richmond, The Telegraph)
  • I was wrong … what seems like a little bit of extra screen real estate on the iPad mini makes a huge difference. (Jim Dalrymple, The Loop)
  • If your budget’s got more wiggle room, the iPad Mini is the best compact-sized tablet on the market. (Harry McCracken, Time)
  • When I picked it up, I was reminded of the first time I held a first-generation iPhone. (Clayton Morris, Fox News)
  • Engadget’s found that the mini tablet scored 12 hours and 43 minutes battery life, the best life they have measured in any tablets.
