Hewlett-Packard Co. has unveiled two smartphones and a tablet running its Palm mobile operating system on Feb. 9, 2011.
A tiny, credit card size, Veer features a 2.57 inch screen, 800 megahertz Snapdragon processor, and 8 gigabytes storage. The regular size smartphone, Pre 3 has a 3.58 screen, 1.4 gigahertz Snapdragon processor and storage of 8GB or 16GB. The 9.7-inch tablet, TouchPad, has a 1.3 MP front facing camera, Qualcomm Inc’s (QCOM) dual-CPU Snapdragon processor, and internal storage of 16GB or 32GB.
Veer will be available in early spring, Pre 3 in Summer and WiFi version of the TouchPad will also be available in Summer at a “very competitive” price range.
In the meantime, WSJ has published a rumor, stating the start of the manufacturing for the new version of Apple iPad. Features rumored to be included in the new version of iPad are:
- a built-in camera
- faster processor
- thinner and lighter than the first model
- at least one camera on the front of the device
- the resolution of the display will not change much (It is told that trouble improving the display technology).
- more memory
- more powerful graphics processor
Since it’s release, last year, Apple has sold over 14.8 million iPads.
